The "National Passion" exhibition arrives at Fashion Mall.

Fashion Mall hosts an immersive exhibition about the history of the World Cup with over
300 items from its historical collection.

The World Cup is approaching, and with it, the spirit that unites all of Brazil around a single feeling: the passion for football. To celebrate this unique moment, Fashion Mall presents the "National Passion" Exhibition, from
June 5th to 14th , on the L1 floor, in the Events Plaza. The multimedia and interactive exhibition brings together more than 300 items from a historical collection about the sport and the World Cup. The event is free.

Stories, memories, and the enduring optimism surrounding the national team foster unity between generations—parents and children, grandparents and grandchildren, boys and girls—immortalizing moments shared between family and friends. It is this blend of anticipation and nostalgia that the "National Passion" Exhibition brings to the Fashion Mall.

“Football is the national passion, and the World Cup is the perfect opportunity to offer our audience experiences that go far beyond shopping. We want families to create memories here at Fashion Mall, connecting generations through the biggest sporting event on the planet,” emphasizes Camila Rosa, superintendent of Fashion Mall.

The "National Passion" Exhibition tells the story of football from the first World Cup in 1930 to the present day. The historical collection was gathered by collector Alex Braga, who curated the exhibition, demonstrating how football has been and always will be a part of Brazilian life. The exhibition has been held since 2014, the year Brazil hosted the World Cup, and has already had 6 editions in 4 different states, establishing itself as a benchmark for cultural events about football in the country.

Among the more than 300 items in the collection, the public will be able to appreciate rare pieces of great historical value, such as the ball from Neymar's debut for the Brazilian National Team and one of the jerseys from that match against the United States in New Jersey; Domingos da Guia's historic passport from the 1938 World Cup; the Official Trophy inspired by the Jules Rimet Cup, awarded by the CBF in 2020 to each player who won three World Cups (1958, 1962 and 1970); as well as autographed jerseys worn by Pelé, Garrincha, Romário and other stars. The exhibition also includes chairs and the original plaque from the inauguration of the Maracanã stadium in 1950, pennants, tickets, medals, trophies and championship banners. The public will also be able to see uniforms used in past World Cups, newspapers and magazines from each edition of the tournament, historical balls, sticker albums, football boots, playing equipment, a piece of the pitch from the 1998 final, as well as rare photographs and graphic materials.

In addition to the physical collection, the public will be able to relive the sounds and emotions of the World Cups with audio recordings of unforgettable goals and theme songs that have marked generations, in a multimedia experience designed to evoke fond memories and bring different audiences closer to the history of football.

The historical collection was assembled by collector
Alex Braga , who curated the exhibition, demonstrating how football has been and always will be a part of Brazilian life.

To offer a complete experience for all ages, the exhibition will feature a leisure area for the whole family, with video games, seated football, football billiards, foosball, and table football, available for fans of different generations. In each edition, trained promoters accompany the public, presenting the items and sharing interesting facts about the collection. The exhibition also includes accessibility features for people with disabilities, such as a tactile map and sign language interpreter.

The National Passion Exhibition is a cultural project sponsored by the City Hall of Rio de Janeiro, the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, the GPS Group, and Brunel Energy, with support from Courtyard Hotels and produced by Sagre Agência de Projetos Incentivados, through the Municipal Law for Cultural Incentives - ISS Law.
